Lenses

Spectacle lenses selected around how you live.

Your frames are only half the story.

From personalised varifocals and screen lenses to thinner prescriptions and sun protection, we use Nikon technology and precise dispensing to make your glasses work properly in real life — not just look good on the wall.

How we get your lenses right

Expertise first — the four things we always do.

Great lenses are the result of judgement and precise measurement, not just a name on the case. This is what happens whichever lens you end up with.

  1. 01

    Understand

Where your glasses currently let you down — driving, screens, reading, your working distances, comfort, previous varifocals and how they look.

  2. 02

    Select

The most appropriate lens type and level of personalisation for you — not automatically the most expensive one.

  3. 03

    Measure

The position of your eyes, how the frame sits on your face, your working distances and the exact measurements that lens design needs.

  4. 04

    Review

Fit, comfort, adaptation and real-life performance after you collect them — and we adjust or put things right if needed.

Everyday lenses

Better everyday glasses, in the detail.

Even a straightforward single-vision prescription benefits from a more considered lens. The difference is quiet but real — clearer vision, fewer reflections and lenses that stay looking good for longer.

  • Anti-reflection coatings cut distracting reflections for night driving and screens, and let people see your eyes rather than the glare.
  • Scratch-resistant and easy-clean treatments keep your lenses clearer for longer and simpler to look after.
  • Thinner, lighter materials keep even everyday lenses comfortable and flattering.
  • Considered lens design gives sharper, more relaxed vision than a basic off-the-shelf lens.
★★★★★
“The most in-depth review and test I have ever had. After years of putting up with inferior glasses, these are the best — readers, varifocals and a pair for the TV, all perfect. The staff are so helpful and polite. I cannot recommend them higher.”

Lens questions, answered.

How do I know which lens is right for me?

Start with what you want your glasses to do better — screens and work, seeing at every distance, thinner lenses, or sun and glare. From there we look at your prescription, your day-to-day life and your current glasses, and recommend what genuinely suits you. You do not need to know the optical terminology; that is our job.

Are the most expensive lenses always the best?

No. A more advanced lens suits many people, but the right lens is the one matched to your prescription, frame and lifestyle — not automatically the dearest. We explain the differences honestly so you can choose what is right for you. Our guide on why some varifocals cost more goes into this.

Do you use Nikon lenses?

Yes — we fit Nikon Lenswear, designed in Japan and crafted in the UK. Nikon supplies an exceptional range of technology; our expertise is in choosing which part of that range is right for you, measuring it precisely and making sure it performs in real life.

How long will my new lenses take?

Most lenses are ready within a week or two, depending on the design and any specialist requirements. We will confirm the timescale at your appointment.

What if my new lenses do not feel right?

Bring them back and we will check them. A precise fitting and the right design usually mean you adapt quickly, but if anything does not feel right we will review the fit and measurements and put it right.
