Eye test FAQs
Yes. STOTTS. provides NHS-funded sight tests for everyone who is eligible, across all our practices in Greater Manchester and Lancashire. Eligibility includes children, people aged 60 and over, those on certain benefits, and people with particular medical conditions or a family history of eye disease.
You are usually entitled to an NHS-funded sight test if you are under 16 (or under 19 in full-time education), aged 60 or over, have diabetes or glaucoma, are considered at risk of glaucoma, or receive certain benefits. If you are unsure, contact your local practice and we will check for you.
A private Eye Health & Vision Consultation is for people who are not eligible for an NHS test, or who would simply prefer to be seen privately. It is £39 and includes a full assessment of your vision and eye health.
NHS sight tests are funded where you are eligible. Our private consultation is £39, the Studio Advanced Eye Health Assessment (with OCT/Optomap where appropriate) is £79, and the Signature Eye Health Assessment is £145. Studio members receive enhanced assessments as part of their membership.
We never rush. A standard consultation is unhurried and considered; advanced and signature assessments take longer because they include additional imaging and discussion. We would rather take the time to understand your eyes properly.
Most adults should have an eye examination at least every two years, and some people more often — including children, those over 60, contact lens wearers, and anyone monitoring an eye health condition. We will recommend the right interval for you.
